I think the heat is getting to me

I woke up last night and tore part of the light fitting from the wall. I’m not sure why, but I remember thinking that it was very important at the time. God help the person who I end up sharing a bed with.

Much fun was had at the picnic. It was my first trip to the famous Butte de Chaumont, and it certainly lived up to expectations. An impressive amount of Pimm’s made it into our glasses, and I think the general dehydration landed a couple of us with mild heatstroke. Still, poor Rhino came off rather worse, opting for more homeopathic sun remedies (champagne and chocolate tart)

    Are you bad-mouthing my chocolate tart again?? :-) That said, I cannot believe that the style police allowed me to remain at the picnic after sustaining third-degree burns. Your Pimms was – quite literally – a lifesaver!

    It’s not the same if you don’t have the fruit. The whole picnic was most pleasant, many thanks to you two for organising it.

    I couldn’t find an e-mail for you, so I’m commenting.

    I’m a Paris blogger (frogblog). I was at the bloggers’ picnic in June.

    I wanted to let you know I’ve launched a social network for Francophiles at http://www.francophilia.com. We’ve been up for about a week. We have 64 members, including the Deputy Director of the Alliance in DC and a HuffPo blogger (Francophilia nickname “MrPickwick”). So far members are 18-77 and from at least 10 different countries. We have lots of members who are Francophile bloggers. Members can put links to their sites/blogs in their profiles. (I added that, having blogger priorities!).

    We’re still in beta testing, but I would appreciate your help in getting the word out. If you link to us or blog us, I’ll put you on our Links page. Please pass the word to Francophile friends and I’d love it if you’d join too, of course!
